Abstract

Customs representatives play a critical role in import and export operations as they act as a bridge between companies and the government. Working with the right customs representative saves companies time, money, and reputation. At this point, choosing the best customs representative is of utmost importance. The aim of this study is to identify the most important criteria for selecting the right customs representative, especially to ensure the sustainable execution of export operations, and to define the ideal profile of a customs representative based on these criteria. To determine the objective weights of the evaluation criteria, the Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) methods CRITIC and MOORA were applied. The results indicate that the most important criteria are References, Service Quality, Technology Usage/Digitalization, and Information Security. Furthermore, the analysis revealed that companies C and D, which meet these criteria, achieved the highest scores in the evaluation.
